Associate Lawyer
The growing law firm of Leighton Legal Group, LLC seeks an associate lawyer (prefer 1-3 years of experience) to help serve Clients. Leighton Legal Group’s structure is designed to encourage new hires to gain experience and responsibility early in their careers. Prefer candidates with experience and/or substantial interest in some practice areas of the firm. Proficiency with legal research important. Associate will assist members of the firm in preparing for client conferences, hearings and trials. Appearances at court and drafting of documents will command a large part of associate’s time (support both litigation and transactions). Superior academic performance preferred; strong communication skills required.
Associate will:
- Appear at court for routine hearings in family, traffic and other cases
- Set up businesses including limited liability companies and corporations
- Draft trust and estate planning documents
- Help attorneys prepare for trial by doing discovery and exhibits
- Conduct legal research using on-line data bases and other resources
- Help with various other projects as Client and staff needs arise
